it's not the scenery it's the people

Here's Robby's first try at being a sternman on Geno Lazaro's Miss Katie. This was August 2007 headed into Old Harbor after a few hours of hauling with Geno's son Kurt and me. We started at 4:30am and were weighing the haul by about 1:30pm. This was the "light" day with 200 traps. Geno fishes with the maximum 800 traps. His grandson Connor even has a few of his own. You can see Geno's pot bouy color is all red with a white wand.

Our friend Bobby Warren invited us lobstering on Seabreeze this summer. Robby and I are posing as usual while neighbor Kirk Hanson took the shot between stuffing bait bags. This is sunrise headed out of Old Harbor.

Here are my girls on our favorite walk around City Point. This is the part called sunset rock which is actually a town park. Upon viewing the sun setting over the Reach, Hurricane Sound and Penobscot Bay, a friend once said " did you ever think that at this one moment you might be at the most beautiful spot on earth?" These girls certainly enhance a spectacular view.

This is Anna broken down in the back of one of the more reliable Vinalhaven taxis. She is texting her friends in CT from one of the only spots on the island that gets cell phone reception. Robby is peeing on the rear right brake pad which has seized. The white haired gentleman is our friend Jeff Aronson who is a powerful member of the Island planning board not beyond accepting fine singlemalt to get out of code, ostentatious building projects approved.

here's a few pictures to get started

This is what's left of Newman and Stella's place on Vinalhaven. I used this for my Colby 25th reunion picture and also sent it to Linda Greenlaw (my most famous Colby classmate) when I invited her to meet my hardworking neighbors. She's agreed to come to dinner. No date set.
